Event: Nexus Community Social
On August 28th, the NEXUS Community Social & Homeowner Information Session was held at the popular event venue Block 41 in the Belltown neighbourhood of Seattle. Hosted by the Burrard Community Care team, the event provided an opportunity for Nexus homeowners to meet the teams that will be facilitating the transition of moving into their new home.
“It was a pleasure to get reacquainted with Nexus homeowners again, since our Nexus Of It All event last Spring,” said Jessica Kameron, Program Manager for Burrard Group. “We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with homeowners as we begin the closing and resident move-in process later this year.”
The event kicked off as guests socialized and enjoyed artisanal hospitality by Lisa Dupar Catering and fine wines by DeLille Cellars to a live painting performance by Bisco Smith, an artist that will be featured in Nexus’ progressive art program.
A beautiful furniture arrangement from Alchemy Collections set the stage for presentations. The information session began with a speech by Burrard Properties CEO, Christian Chan. He welcomed homeowners and thanked them for their support of Nexus. Later in the speech, Chan revealed Burrard Properties’ new partnership with the nonprofit Low Income Housing Institute to build 41 tiny homes — one for each story of Nexus.
“On behalf of the homeowners of this building, we’re proud and excited to establish this partnership,” said Chan.
Following Chan on stage were the key partners involved with the closing and homeownership process of Nexus. Erik Mehr, EMA; Marshall Johnson, CWD Group; Carese Busby & Nancy Glover, Caliber Home Loans; Brieanne Regalia, First American Title; and Jessica Kameron, Burrard Community Care, were among the presenters.
